Astral Chain: 8 Things You Didn’t Know About Marie | Game Rant

Astral Chain is an action-adventure, hack and slash video game that released on the Nintendo Switch in August 2019. Published by Nintendo themselves and developed by PlatinumGames, the game follows the Neuron special police task force as they protect their dystopian world, the Ark, from Chimeras, interdimensional creatures. The player controls one of the twin recruits who commands a Legion, a tamed Chimera (that has five types: Sword, Arrow, Arm, Beast, and Axe), and uses an X-Baton as a weapon (that can transform into a Baton, Blaster, or Gladius).

The Ark itself is an artificial island metropolis, referred to as a megafloat, that the humans created as a refuge following the devastation of Earth. It is protected by Neuron and there is an ongoing war between the humans and the Chimeras. The player is a part of a squad that includes Commander Yoseph Calvert, Captain Maximilian Howard, Akira Howard (the protagonist’s twin), Operator Olive Espinose, Alicia Lopez, Jin Wong, and — most importantly as well as best of all — Marie Wentz.

8 Marie Is Too Young For This

Although it is not explicitly stated in the game, Marie is a 22-year-old woman. She is 5 feet and 3 inches tall and weighs 105 pounds. Also, and this may not be something the player ever wondered or cared about, Marie’s blood type is O.

Regarding appearance, which they see in the game of course, she has messy, medium-length black hair and green eyes. Under her thick black-rimmed glasses, Marie has a mole under left eye.

7 Marie Dresses Nicely (For An Officer)

Although the Neuron Task Force appears to have some sort of dress code, Marie spices things up when in uniform. She wears a white collared shirt with pockets and shoulder patches displaying the Neuron logo/name. Marie accessorizes with a long black tie and black-and-white gloves too. In addition, she uses a utility belt.

Regarding her lower half, Marie wears blue shorts and thigh-high black knee socks over black tights. There are armor pieces over her knees too. Also, she throws on an official black-and-white cap with “POLICE” etched in as well as black sneakers.

6 Marie Is Not Like The Other Neuron Members

When the player walks around the Neuron HQ, they will notice many of the Neuron members are wearing an official blue jacket with the Task Force’s name and logo on it. Marie passes on this. Instead, she opts for blue straps running across her shoulders, arms, and chest that have “POLICE” written all over them.

Moreover, Marie does not use an X-Baton — the transforming tool and standard weapon of the Neuron Task Force — or a Legatus Unit — a device the officers use that houses a Legion and connects them to it. She also does not use a walkie-talkie. For shame.

5 Marie Is A Good Teammate (And Friend)

There is a decent amount of comradery among the Neuron Task Force members. But Marie takes the cake. She is the best.

Marie has a lively attitude and personality. She always remains hopeful and focuses on the good things when a situation gets bad. Marie cares deeply about her fellow officers and goes out of her way to comfort them.

4 Marie Used To Be A Traffic Cop

Before becoming a member of the Neuron Task Force, Marie was a regular police officer in the Ark working for the traffic enforcement department. The reason she was recruited? Under-staffing.

Marie is just a general affairs officer at Neuron HQ though. She cleans the floors and files paperwork. Only menial jobs for Marie.

3 Marie Was Born On October 8 (2055)

On October 8, 2055, Marie was born. This makes her a Libra. Those with this zodiac sigh are apparently considerate and thoughtful. Additionally, Libras put others’ needs first and are regardless as good friends. Sound familiar?

She also shares her birthday with actor Chevy Chase, actor Bella Thorne, actor Matt Damon, singer Bruno Mars, actor Nick Cannon, and actor Sigourney Weaver.

2 Marie (You Know, Lappy) Loves Cats

The secret identity of Marie is Lappy, the Ark Police Force’s yellow dog mascot. She keeps her side life as the big, goofy Labrador on the hush hush, but all of the officers know it is her under the suit. Still, they play along to make (and keep) her happy.

Thing is, Marie likes cats… a lot. In the game, there are plenty of cats for the player to rescue, and she will gravitate towards them. (Even though dogs hate cats!)

1 Marie Was Voiced By Cassandra Lee Morris

The voice actor for Marie is Cassandra Lee Moris, who voiced Morgana in Persona 5 StrikersPersona 5: The AnimationPersona 5: RoyalPersona 5: Dancing in Starlight, Persona 5Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and Dragalia Lost.
