The next entry in Supermassive Games’ ongoing horror series, The Dark Pictures Anthology, will be titled The Devil In Me.
Following the launch of House of Ashes later this year, Supermassive Games will launch the fourth game in the series assumedly in 2022 (there’s been one Dark Pictures title per year since 2019). Man of Medan hit in 2019, then Little Hope arrived in 2021.
Neither developer Supermassive Games nor publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment made this announcement; instead, the information has been leaked by a trademark filing with Justia Trademarks, which appeared online with a new trademark on 1 July, 2021.
“The letter V in the word DEVIL is stylized, with a magnifying glass attached to the bottom of the letter V. On the left of the mark, there is a left-facing skull with a compass inside the skull,” the description explains (via ResetEra).
You can see it in the embedded tweet below, too. That small detail on the V doesn’t look like a magnifying glass to us – but that’s what trademark descriptions are for.
House of Ashes will release on 22 October, 2021 for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and PC.
The third installment in Supermassive Games’ horror anthology is set during the 2003 Iraq War, and follows a group of American and Iraqi soldiers as they investigate a strange, subterranean lair that turns out to be an ancient temple.
