Remedy’s next project already has an entry on the Epic Games Store database.
It looks like Control developer Remedy Entertainment might be gearing up to reveal a new project. A number of database entries attributed to the developer have appeared on Epicdata.info, a site dedicated to cataloguing store database updates, sort of like what SteamDB is to Steam.
The entries, spotted by MP1st, all reference a project called “BigFish.” The original entry was created earlier this month, and an update was made yesterday.
Unlike other upcoming games on the Epic Games Store with pages already live, BigFish doesn’t have associated images. The mere existence of the page, however, indicates that something is cooking behind the scenes.
Of course, Remedy could just be using the store’s back end as a way of sharing builds with developers and testers, in the same way some developers rely on Steam to distribute builds of in-development games. That is to say that we may not be getting closer to some sort of reveal, but the prospect is certainly exciting.
It’s also unlikely BigFish is Control’s remaining expansion, because Control’s various entries are found under publisher 505 Games in the store’s database.
Remedy recently entered into a two-game publishing agreement with Epic Games, and one of those games could be BigFish. The studio said it’s working on a big-budget AAA project, and another smaller game.
