Google already provides three years of software updates for its Pixel smartphones, and last week, Samsung announced that it will offer three major OS upgrades to its flagships starting with the Galaxy S10. Now Microsoft confirmed that its recently launched Surface Duo foldable smartphone will also get three years of software updates.
This promise includes OS upgrades as well as security patches. It’s still not as good as what Apple offers to its customers, but considering how long people keep their phones it’s probably close enough so as not to matter for most.
