Nintendo’s latest Indie World Showcase didn’t skimp on exciting news, as it revealed that several popular indie games are making their way onto the Switch. But while most of these won’t be released until later this year or the next, one of the most critically-acclaimed of these games, Manifold Garden, is available today.
There are many great puzzle games that mess with players’ perception of space, but few do it as elegantly as Manifold Garden. Inspired by physically-impossible worlds imagined by artists like M.C Escher, the first-person puzzler takes place in abstract levels that loop infinitely, allowing them to walk off them, fall into the endless void, and then land back where they fell. Players are also able to change the direction of gravity to walk on most surfaces, an ability they must use in tandem with the levels’ architecture to solve puzzles and progress.
Originally revealed back in 2015 under the name Relativity, Manifold Garden was first released last year, following seven years of development. Now the game is available on consoles, as, following Nintendo’s showcase, the official Manifold Garden Twitter confirmed that it’s now available for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One along as well as the Switch.
Furthermore, to commemorate the game’s console launch, developer William Chyr Studio is offering the game at a 10% discount on Switch and Xbox One. On the PS4, meanwhile, the same discount is being applied to both the base version of the game and its Deluxe Edition, but is limited to PS Plus subscribers.
Manifold Garden is available for Mobile, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
