Since the release of Mortal Kombat 11 with the promise of expansions and DLC characters, dataminers have been hard at work trying to catch the slightest hint of new content. Many of the Mortal Kombat dataminers have been pretty successful in revealing many of the characters before their release. Now, one dataminer has found what appears to be the biggest list of DLC characters since the Mortal Kombat: Aftermath expansion.
Twitter user “thethiny” is known for reliable Mortal Kombat leaks and less than a week ago, the dataminer posted a cryptic message indicating the highly requested Mileena would be added to the game’s growing roster. Now, “thethiny” has revealed a set of files that hints at 19 DLC characters. There is not much information contained in the file other than text indicating DLC characters. The file could be a list of all DLC characters, which would add new characters on top of the nine already available DLC characters.
Before the Aftermath expansion, Mortal Kombat 11 released characters individually and offered a bundle of the characters in the form of a Kombat Pack. The first Kombat Pack contained six outstanding DLC characters, all given their own reveals and trailers.
The Aftermath expansion threw a wrench in how characters are released by including three characters available at the same time, which can be technically considered the second Kombat Pack. The next Kombat Pack may contain a good amount of characters so it would make sense if they are released individually like the first set.
Many fans have been predicting which characters could be included in the next Kombat Pack. Mileena is one of the most popular character predictions, however another classic character may be a future DLC character. Dataminer “thethiny” also included a recently added set of files that contains Cyrax’s audio against Aftermath characters. Although this does not indicate that Cyrax may be a playable character, it could mean that Cyrax and Sektor will play bigger roles in any future content.
Many characters have been thrown around as the next possible DLC. One previous leak indicates that one character may be a beat cop from Mortal Kombat 9, Stryker. Other characters predicted to be added include Reptile, Bo Rai Cho, and other classic characters, while some are still holding on to hope that Ash Williams will make his way onto the roster. Every leak must be taken with caution, but Mortal Kombat 11 may be overdue for a new Kombat Pack, so fans should check back regularly for any updates.
Mortal Kombat 11 is available now on PC, PS4, Stadia, Switch, and Xbox One.
