Modern Warfare Streamer Accidentally Reveals Hacks While Trying to Prove He Doesn’t Cheat

The easiest and most effective way to not be accused of being a cheater is simple; don’t cheat in the first place. Recently a streamer was attempting to show viewers that they weren’t hacking in Modern Warfare, but the end result actually provided evidence that they were indeed cheating.

Modern Warfare has a pretty well-known issue with cheaters, so much so that Activision has banned players and made statements on the problem. Many still enjoy the game and play regularly, but for some, the cheating problem has taken away from the game so much that they have stopped playing. Others have simply joined in with the cheaters. That is the case for one streamer, who seems to have been caught in a rather comical way.

Twitter user @SombreroGG recently tweeted out a rather sad but amusing video of a Twitch streamer. The streamer had been accused of cheating in Modern Warfare by viewers, and to attempt to prove that they weren’t cheating, they set up a mouse cam. Mouse cams are pointed directly down at the player’s hand as they are controlling the mouse, usually to show off the elite skills of the player, but sometimes to provide evidence of clean play. In the case of this streamer, this mouse cam backfired.

The mouse cam was pointed at such an angle that a corner of the TV screen was made visible. That corner ended up showing the cheat software in action, as an enemy’s skeletal structure was visible behind a wall. The streamer was wall hacking in Modern Warfare, and the mouse cam caught him red-handed. The video he set-up to prove that he was a clean player literally did the total opposite.

Along with doing wrong in the game, the individuals who are downloading the Modern Warfare cheats may be spending tons of cash to get the programs. The hacking problem is ruining the experience for many. One hacker has actually provided advice to Activision and Infinity Ward, as they saw similarities in the programs that have been created for Modern Warfare.

Activision has recently sued a cheat website for Call of Duty Modern Warfare and Warzone. Time will tell if some of the advice, promises, and lawsuits will result in fewer cheaters. But one thing is for sure, for the people out there who are willing to cheat, it’s probably wise to lay low. Or better yet, just play fair in the first place.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
