Xbox Series S’ name pops up again, this time on a Game Pass trial card

At this rate, you’ll be able to buy an Xbox Series S before Microsoft gets a chance to announce it.

Microsoft has yet to officially unveil the Xbox Series S, but the company seemingly has no problem confirming its existence on official pamphlets, repeatedly.

A recent leak for the new Xbox controller packaging mentioned Series S by name. Today, the console’s name has once again been spotted on an official Microsoft product document. Twitter user @BraviaryBrendan shared a photo of a Game Pass Ultimate trial card that specifically mentions compatibility with Xbox Series X/S as well as Xbox One and PC.

This paper came in the box of a standard controller, too, which has to mean we’re getting closer to the Series S’ official reveal at this point. According to BraviaryBrendan, the controller was bought directly from Microsoft’s online store.

Xbox Series S is believed to be the official name of Lockhart, a cheaper, less powerful sibling to Series X. Lockhart has itself been referenced multiple times in development documents, but Microsoft has yet to even acknowledge its existence publicly.

Head of Xbox Phil Spencer previously said that Microsoft will be ready to share more Xbox news in August, which is when fans expected Series S to be officially announced. August has come and gone, of course, without a hint of that supposed event.
