Fortnite’s Season 4 is finally in full swing, and players are exploring all the new changes made to the game. Fortnite’s Season 4 involves map changes, but it has not changed too drastically this time around.
In particular, the locations of the various ponds and lakes around the map have remained plentiful and easy to find. This is good, because one of Fortnite Season 4’s newest fish, the Vendetta Flopper, may take players quite a bit of time to catch.
While the Season 4 Marvel crossover event has changed a lot within Fortnite, the way that fishing works remains largely the same. Fish act as consumable items, and can be categorized into standard and unique fish. Unique fish are extremely rare and yield great benefits to players when consumed. The Vendetta Flopper is considered one of those unique fish.
However, it is important to note that the Vendetta Flopper is incredibly rare, with only a handful of players catching and documenting it so far. As such, the chances of players randomly stumbling upon it while fishing in a Fortnite match are unlikely. But players can better their chances through a few easy steps. First, players will need to find a normal fishing rod, gather the materials needed to craft the pro fishing rod, and look for an upgrade bench.
The pro fishing rod is essential for catching the Vendetta Flopper, as it greatly increases the chances of encountering rare or large fish when fishing during a Fortnite match. When consumed, the Vendetta Flopper will temporary mark all nearby enemies on the map. The Vendetta Flopper can supposedly be found in any body of water on the map, meaning once players have crafted the pro fishing rod, it all comes down to luck whether they catch it or not.
It shouldn’t make any real difference whether players choose to catch fish at Craggy Cliffs or Coral Castle. However, more secluded areas of the map may be better suited for fishing if players are looking to avoid enemy encounters while searching for the Vendetta Flopper. While this rare fish will most likely be quite the challenge to catch, players don’t need to complete some elaborate task to get the chance to catch it. Hopefully, with a little luck, players can start pulling in this prized fish as soon as possible.
Fortnite is out now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions also in development.
