Fall Guys is adding a new feature, dubbed “Big Yeetus,” that should shake things up in a pretty interesting way, according to the game’s official Twitter account. And while some fans may be worried about the additional element, Big Yeetus is completely Chaotic Neutral — not anyone’s friend, but also not anyone’s enemy, at least as the developers put it.
Big Yeetus is a giant spinning hammer capable of sending players flying to their doom, or possibly closer to the finish line. The new obstacle will appear randomly in levels, giving players yet another object to avoid or to leap into if they think it can give them an advantage. Of course, there’s always the chance that Fall Guys players will use this to grief each other, so everyone will want to stay on their toes.
The Twitter account only shared a look at Big Yeetus on one map, but the variety of game modes found in Fall Guys will each be uniquely affected by the addition. Its ramifications for a game like Slime Climb will be radically different compared to smaller game modes, like Perfect Match, where it could drastically affect a player’s ability to win.
Fall Guys has set the stage for numerous tweaks to the game, ranging from new game modes being added in the future to quality of life changes. While it certainly isn’t without issues — Fall Guys’ team games remain a contentious problem — developer Mediatonic has promised heaps of content in the coming weeks, which is a boon for fans.
All of that has contributed to Fall Guys’ massive success, quickly exploding onto the scene thanks to a combination of early success on Twitch, and being given to PS Plus subscribers in August. It’s managed to stay relevant with an engaging social media presence, which regularly offers up news about the title, as well as cracking jokes and reveling in the game’s success.
With Fall Guys Season 2 on the horizon, players still have plenty to look forward to out of the cartoonish battle royale game. Big Yeetus is an exciting feature on its own, but the new content being added to the mix, regular players should have quite a bit to keep themselves entertained. Plus, there’s always the prospect of limited-time events or modes should Fall Guys ever decided to implement such features, which may be enough to keep fans coming back for more in the future, though depends on how far Mediatonic wants to carry the game.
Fall Guys is available now for PC and PS4.
