Someone Turned a TV Into a Massive Switch Replica | Game Rant

The Nintendo Switch has been a popular console since launch, but especially during the coronavirus pandemic, where Switches regularly sell out. Now, a fan has shown a new level of dedication to the hybrid console in a unique way. A way that shows a respectable amount of dedication not just to the Switch, but to Nintendo in general.

Over on Twitter, user @mariosfun1 shared their TV, which has been given a complete makeover to resemble a massive version of the Nintendo Switch. While that may seem a bit extreme to even some of the most dedicated Nintendo enthusiasts, the TV is pretty practical, with the fake Joy-Cons secretly being cabinets housing games and other Super Mario paraphernalia.

It’s a nifty setup, and certainly a conversation starter. The shared video features Super Mario Land running, evidence that the giant Switch TV is still functional. The entire area is clean, too, with no apparent mess of cables running around, though it would be interesting to see what the guts of the system look like, considering how frustrating cable management can be with complex setups.

The Nintendo Switch TV comes at a fitting time, too. A triple-pack of classic Mario games was announced for the Switch as part of Mario’s 35th anniversary. The Super Mario 3D All-Stars bundle, as it’s called, has stirred up some controversy due to being a limited-time release, but it’s still something that fans have wanted. It also serves as an alternative to Virtual Console, which has been absent on the Nintendo Switch.

There have also been rumors of a revamped Switch releasing eventually, though Nintendo hasn’t confirmed anything about the supposed console yet. A mid-generation overhaul is common in the industry, and Nintendo has released alternate versions of consoles in the past, but it isn’t clear to what extent Nintendo would change up the Switch.

Regardless, it’s interesting to wonder what other devices players could give a Switch makeover to. A TV is one thing, and certainly suiting, but there are plenty of other things that could use some love, maybe even other consoles. The ingenuity of fans knows no bounds, as seen by fans turning the Wii into a Gameboy, so the possibilities are essentially endless. And while a massive Nintendo Switch on the wall isn’t easy to work around from an interior design standpoint, it’s hard to fault a fan f0r their enthusiasm, considering the console’s impact on the gaming industry.
