Tony Hawk Recreates Pro Skater in Real Life | Game Rant

The Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater franchise has made a triumphant return with the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 remake. Many fans had been worried that the game would miss the features that made the original titles special, but Tony Hawk’s Pros Skater 1+2 has been critically acclaimed and so far, it seems that the majority of fans are enjoying the title as well. Of course, a big selling point of the franchise is its titular star, Tony Hawk and he made the game feel more real than ever to celebrate its release.

To celebrate the release of the new Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 remake, the popular skateboarder descended a half-pipe and collected the letters for S-K-A-T-E. This was done in with style through airs, grinds, and an impressive gap to finish off the sequence.  It’s safe to say, Tony Hawk showcases just how good of a skateboarder he is and it is impressive to see the challenge done in real life. To add to the gaming elements sound effects were edited into the video as well as the Millencolin song ‘No Cigar’ which featured in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2. Hawk is rewarded with one of the easiest secret tape finds at the end of his run and opens a letter attached which is a thank you letter from his staff.

The original Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater game was released in 1999 and it had an arcade-like focus, allowing players to do insane jumps and combos to achieve high scores. Naturally, this has made the remake of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater one of the most anticipated games of the year. However, Tony Hawk was a key part of the marketing of the game as one of the most successful skateboarders of all time and the first to do the 720 aerial.

The reception to the video has been overwhelmingly positive and it seems that this content alongside the new game is what fans wanted. With the apparent success of the game, it will be interesting to see what direction the Pro Skater series takes and whether there will be further remakes or titles.

For now, many players will be happy to revisit classic levels, complete challenges, and find secret characters in Pro Skater. However, the future does look bright for the series and fans hope that this positive momentum continues.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
