Apex Legends Players Discover Infinite Stim Bug for Octane

It seems like there is new bugs being found in Apex Legends every day since Season 6 launched. While some glitches that have been found have been considered borderline game-breaking, like Rampart’s mini-gun being able to shoot through Gibraltar’s dome shield, there have been some that could be considered more amusing rather frustrating. Thankfully a new Octane bug that has been found falls into the latter of these two categories.

The newly discovered bug for the Adrenaline Junkie, Octane, is certainly an unusual one. Apex Legends players have found that upon using the legend’s stim ability, he occasionally will get stuck in the arm-pumping animation with the stim itself sticking out of his chest. Thankfully, this animation glitch is purely cosmetic, and players still have full access to their weapons, items, and abilities.

This is but one of many glitches and bugs that have been found since the launch of Apex Legends‘ Season 6 update, however, this seems to be one of the few that have been discovered for Octane. Unfortunately, Season 6’s new legend, Rampart, has been the primary offender when it comes to unusual interactions, such as Crypto’s drone not being able to recognize players while they are using Rampart’s mini-gun.

These problems haven’t been limited to characters. Early on during Apex Legends Season 6, players found that heirlooms, the special character-based melee weapons, did less damage to Rampart’s amped cover walls than regular melee attacks did. While regular hits could take down these walls in two hits, those equipped with an heirloom saw that it would take over 14 hits to knock one down.

There is good news, though. Respawn Entertainment put out a blog post recently where it announced that in a new update that is now live in Apex Legends, it would be reverting Evo Shield values to what they were pre-Season 6. Alongside this change, the update included several patches for bugs that were known at the time, including the Crypto drone and heirloom bugs mentioned before.

Despite the many bugs that have been found, Apex Legends players still seem to be enjoying the offering provided in Season 6. Despite Respawn’s employees having to work from home during the on-going COVID-19 pandemic, the game has seen several improvements and innovations on its formula with things like its crafting system. Hopefully it will continue to improve Apex Legends and its various bugs before the Nintendo Switch and Steam versions launch this fall.

Apex Legends is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with a Switch version coming this fall.
