Animal Crossing: New Horizons Adds Moon Rug Item for Limited Time

New cute items are being added to Animal Crossing: New Horizons all the time and with the seasons preparing to change, new seasonal housewares, decorations, wearable items, and even pine cones are becoming available in Animal Crossing: New Horizons for a limited time. The newest addition is a rug that resembles the moon and players only have a month to purchase it before it’s gone.

Summer is coming to an official close as 2020 is powering right along into September, which means it’s time to get ready for Fall content in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. The new month brings plenty of things for players to do such as new bugs to catch like the Monarch Butterfly (in the Northern Hemisphere), a Bug Off competition on September 26 (also for the Northern Hemisphere), and most importantly, a total nature pallet swap so islands will go from a colorful Summer look to a warmer, orange aesthetic for Fall.

So far into September, Animal Crossing: New Horizons has offered up two season items for players to obtain. The first of which was the ever-popular Grape-harvest basket which players can wear on their backs as they enhance their island and shake trees. Today, the Terminal in Resident Services added a Moon Rug to the “Seasonal tab” that will cost players 2,000 bells and would be perfect for a room dedicated to Fall nights or anyone preparing for Halloween next month. Since the item is seasonal, the Moon Rug is only available until October 8.

Since September is basically the gateway into Fall for a lot of players, the month brought a ton of changes and new hidden features for players to discover. Many players are hoping that the Halloween update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons is coming sooner than later, but until then, players may want to check out the Seasonal Items tab and stock up on those limited-time items before they’re gone. More likely than not, Fall items will be able to double as Halloween decorations for some creative players.

Nintendo is constantly adding new and interesting items to Animal Crossing: New Horizons and recently it was announced that the game will be getting Super Mario themed furniture to celebrate the Super Mario Bros. 35th Anniversary. No details during the announcement were provided on what those items would be but the Nintendo Direct did list the date March 2021 with the announcement, so fans may have a while to speculate.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available now for the Nintendo Switch.
