A lot of old games have found new life on the the Nintendo Switch. From classics like the Mario games being compiled in Super Mario 3D All-Stars to more obscure titles, the console’s affordability and portability just make it one of the best platforms for new ports to show up on. That trend is set to continue with the re-release of 2004’s RollerCoaster Tycoon 3.
Word of a Switch port was leaked earlier this week after dataminers claimed to have spotted the park-building sim in the backend of the Switch eShop, suggesting it would be launching soon. That is in fact the case, as original developer Frontier Developments has since officially announced that it will be releasing RollerCoaster Tycoon 3: Complete Edition later this month for both the Switch and Steam.
Being the Complete Edition, the new port will have everything the original had to offer, including all of the content from RollerCoaster Tycoon 3’s two expansion packs Soaked! and Wild! This means players will have access to over 300 different rollercoasters and rides, 500 scenery pieces, 60 shops and services, and 20 animals, on top of dozens of scenarios for them to take on as park manager. Combined with the Sandbox Mode, players will have everything they need to create the rollercoaster park of their dreams, or use RollerCoaster Tycoon to create a never-ending nightmare ride.
RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 isn’t the only park-builder that Frontier is bringing to the Switch this year. There’s also Jurassic World Evolution: Complete Edition, which will come to the console in November for those who are more interested in dinosaur-induced chaos.
RollerCoaster Tycoon 3: Complete Edition launches on September 24 for PC and Switch.
