UFC 4 bug turns fighter into a giant

When it’s not infuriating people by show in-game ads, UFC 4 is making them laugh at its bugs.

UFC 4, where EA recently ran in-game ads before quickly removing them, is in the spotlight again. Players have discovered a quirk that sometimes leads to their character becoming a giant.

Reddit user Jblades1, playing as Tyson Fury, went into a grapple as a normal-sized person, and came out of it super-sized. As bizarre as it sounds, player comments suggest that it’s not actually all that uncommon.

“They have grappling animation[s] done using two same-sized characters. So when they grapple, both fighters turn into same standard size models,” explains Secretlyheterosexual.

“This is done [to try and] avoid any kind of serious immersion breaking animation fuck ups due to size differences. Even for something like passing guards, people [would be] forced to pass guard in a different way than they normally do if their opponent is much bigger than them. Which means they need different sets of animation[s] for different sizes.

“I think it can be done to a certain extant, but realistically speaking, it’s not the most cost-efficient way to spend [a] budget. [It] was [the] same in UFC3.”

Though this is a very compelling explanation, it doesn’t make it any less funny.
