One of the best deals in gaming continues to be Xbox Game Pass, the service that allows players to download and play hundreds of titles on both consoles and PC. And as of this holiday season, Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will be able to take advantage of another massive deal: a free subscription to EA Play.
EA Play, formerly known as EA Access and Origin Access, is a service similar to Xbox Game Pass but limited to titles from Electronic Arts. The service gives players access to many current and classic EA game franchises such as Dead Space, Dragon Age, Mass Effect, and Titanfall.
Normally, an EA Play subscription would cost players $5 per month. However, Xbox has made the announcement that starting this holiday season those with an active Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription will receive an EA Play subscription at no additional cost. This means that players will not only be able to play their favorite EA titles on Xbox consoles and PC, but on mobile devices through Xbox Game Streaming.
This addition is likely related to the recent rumor that Xbox Game Pass would be getting a major new feature. Considering that players will gain access to more than 60 EA titles, exclusive in-game content, and trials on brand new releases like Madden NFL 21, this new partnership makes Xbox Game Pass a supremely good deal for players.
Of course, this announcement is all in service of the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S launching in November of this year. Despite Halo Infinite‘s delay, Xbox seems bent on making its new consoles the best value proposition on the market. And if it keeps adding benefits like EA Play, it could very likely give PlayStation a run for its money.
