Fans of Splatoon 2 who are able to visit the My Nintendo Store in Japan, have a whole bunch of new merchandise to look forward to based on the popular ink shooter.
Part of a new INK YOU UP line for the game, fans will be able to purchase new hats, hoodies, and cushions among other items while in the store. There are also cookies and candy up for sale as well. Unfortunately, the Japanese shop doesn’t ship worldwide and with Covid-19 restrictions currently in place, trips aren’t exactly an option.
Splatoon 2 recently celebrated its 3rd anniversary on the Nintendo Switch this past August. To celebrate the occasion, Nintendo announced the return of a classic Splatfest, once again pitting the chicken against the egg. The original Chicken Vs Egg Splatfest took place in early 2018 less than a year after Splatoon 2‘s release date. Nintendo also announced additional Splatfests would occur before the end of 2020.
One such Splatfest will be in celebration of another anniversary, The 35th anniversary of Super Mario Bros. The Mario-themed Splatfest is one of the many ways Nintendo is celebrating the 35th anniversary in addition to Mario themed items in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, a new 35th anniversary level in Super Mario Maker 2, and several new games heading to the Nintendo Switch.
Currently, the Splatoon 2 North American Open Tournament is nearing its end with the finals being played on September 13. The Splatoon 2 tournament was announced late last month with registration following shortly after. Winners of the tournament will receive a download codes for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, ARMS, and Mario Tennis Aces.
