Battlefield 6 Teasers Turn Out to Be Hoax | Game Rant

Quickly resurrecting the franchise’s community, many thought Battlefield 6 was being teased a couple of days ago after two compelling pieces of evidence hit the internet. The first, a tease from Battlefield YouTuber Jack Frags, who included a mysterious scene of a ticking pocket watch in a recent video that was later commented on by Senior Designer at DICE, Niklas Astrand.

The second was a clip from a mysterious Twitter account titled “TEEET,” with the video featuring a numerical code recently tweeted by a DICE developer and, when reversed, the same radio chatter present in Battlefield 3. It has since been confirmed that the latter was fake, with the TEEET account revealing in a statement that it was a fan-made and the video was a hoax.

“This is the climax point. No further tweets were planned or intended. Yes, this account and its only tweet are fan-made. A lot of you will hate me for doing that, and this is something that I will deeply understand,” the statement reads. For those who are wondering why the fake account posted the video, the statement claims that it was in an effort to bring together a divided community. It was “a very simple video that brought a huge, great and loyal community together once again,” the person behind the account states, revealing that the clip was posted with good intentions. They hope that the stunt showed that “this community will have faith in DICE,” referring to the excited speculation of Battlefield players who’ve interacted with the post over the last few days.

Niklas Astrand was quick to comment on the statement, thanking the account for “straightening some question marks. Both in the community and internally at DICE.” It seems even the Senior Designer was taken in by the mysterious video, commenting: “All this because you made things look too professional and real. For that I salute you. Even if you also made me a bit worried.” All in all, it seems the trail of clues pointing to the next Battlefield has once again gone dry.

Although fans do know that a new Battlefield is in development over a DICE, it remains to be seen how the developer will deal with the series after the fairly significant complaints levied against its last entry. Battlefield 5 was controversial after all, with fans digging into the game’s numerous bugs as well as its strange decision to remove popular modes among many other problems. Here’s to hoping Battlefield 6 brings the franchise back with a bang after so many years on the sidelines.

Battlefield 6 is currently in development.
