For as popular as it is, Call of Duty: Warzone was bound to get its fair share of cheaters sooner or later. With hacking and glitching within the mode becoming the norm over the past few months, seeing players cheat on stream within Warzone is not too surprising. When it is a whole team, however, it gets a bit ridiculous.
A whole squad of cheaters was caught live on Twitch hacking the game, though they did not seem to be hiding it. Reddit user widehard posted an hour-long VOD of the cheating, and sure enough, the streamer can be seen activating his wallhacks and aimbot. Sadly enough, this is not the first instance of a Warzone streamer being caught cheating, though it differs a bit because this streamer’s friends follow suit.
Widehard calls the cheating German streamer “shameless” within his post. For the remainder of the clip, they can be seen winning games in an incredibly lame fashion, seeing enemies through walls and snapping directly to them with aimbots. No skill is involved in the gameplay posted and seeing players cheat like this is wildly disappointing. Hopefully, Infinity Ward can keep these devastating cheats out of the rumored mobile version of Warzone.
Activision is doing its part to stop the hacks, as they have recently sued a popular Warzone cheat website to see it taken down. The lawsuit worked, as the website stopped selling cheats, and the cheat menus bought by the pathetic players who need them ceased working. There are still plenty of cheats out there, though, so Activision and Infinity Ward both have their work cut out for them when it comes to keeping Warzone fair.
With even regular players making use of the returning Stadium glitch in Warzone, getting placed into a completely fair match of the mode seems increasingly unlikely. That said, many people replying to the clip were quick to point out how bad the friend group is at the game, with terrible aim and movement from the cheaters being clear to players with actual skill.
One commenter named DetectiveAxelFoley could translate German, and he found that the players were talking about changing their IPs so they are never banned. While one player admits their cheating is disgusting at one point, another says it is fun, and it is clear that this is not the group’s first time using the hacks.
With players even finding tricks to go invisible and invulnerable in Warzone, the mode is certainly in need of some stability updates and fixes. Hopefully, Warzone has a better system in place to stop cheaters by the time Black Ops Cold War releases, though that remains to be seen.
Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
