Stun Nades in Call of Duty: Warzone are Too Strong Against PC Players

One of the most important parts of Call of Duty: Warzone is balance. The game needs mechanics that are balanced and fair for all players. Many gamers on PC are bringing attention to one part of the game that isn’t as fair for them as it is for console players. It seems that stun grenades work very differently in Call of Duty: Warzone on PC than on consoles.

Stun grenades are a classic Call of Duty item. Once thrown, they slow the enemy so the other player can’t aim or move well for a few seconds. In Warzone, this is even more serious due to how many enemies there are at all times. It seems that some PC players have discovered a discrepancy between their stun grenades and grenades on consoles. It isn’t cheating, which is a normal issue that Warzone faces these days, but rather has to do with controls.

Once stunned, players can only look slowly when they try to turn. On Xbox or PS4, gamers can simply hold down the sticks and continuously start turning in order to get a better view of their opponent. Since PC uses a mouse, this requires the player to constantly move and reset their mouse due to the lowered sensitivity. While not nearly as embarrassing a death as dying to a dumpster, losing a match because the player is using a mouse is seen by many gamers as unfair.

Recent reports show that the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will share Warzone with Modern Warfare, adding to the battle royale rather than creating a new one entirely. This means that any issues players have with the game now will likely still be affecting them in a few months. If PC players are being vocal about this issue now, then maybe it will cause the developers to reassess how stun grenades work in time for the next era of Call of Duty to release.

There is no denying the popularity of Warzone, having reached impressive sales milestones and being played by all sorts of gamers, including a dog. While the stun grenade issue is technically balanced in the sense that all PC players experience the same issue with it, that doesn’t mean that it is fair. It is small details like this that can guarantee a returning fanbase or cause players to leave for the next big thing.

The developers are not always perfect with solutions to Warzone issues. The recent return of the demon gun glitch is a perfect example of how easy it is for one bug or problem to affect the entire game. Hopefully, the developers are listening to these fans and taking their problems with the game to heart.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
