Fitness Boxing 2: Rhythm and Exercise Coming to Switch This Year

Although it’s been largely overshadowed by the more recent Ring Fit Adventure, Fitness Boxing for the Switch has nonetheless been popular among those looking to stay in shape, especially while cooped up due to COVID-19. The game challenges players to learn and perform boxing maneuvers in time with the music’s beat. With over a year passing since its original release, Fitness Boxing hasn’t seen any considerable updates or DLC, but now a new game in the series, Fitness Boxing 2: Rhythm and Exercise is arriving to refresh the formula with some new features.

Fitness Boxing 2: Rhythm and Exercise was initially revealed by Nintendo during its Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase for September, and will be arriving quite soon, landing on December 4. Although the game looks to bear a strong similarity to the original, there are some new functions that may be inviting to players.

Fitness Boxing 2 will grant players access to three new digital personal trainers, and will continue to allow players to customize their trainers with new outfits. Each trainer is said to have a unique personality, which should help players to find one that fits with their personal mood and fitness level. Fitness Boxing 2 is also introducing the ability to turn off certain types of boxing maneuvers, which may open up the platform to those who can’t perform certain moves due to injuries or other physical limitations. The teaser also notes that new remixed music will be coming with the game, as well as an alarm system that players can use to remind them to play the game and work out, even if the Switch is in standby mode.

Returning from the prior entry are the original six trainers and the two-player fitness mode. Players will also be able to transfer their save from the prior game to Fitness Boxing 2 so that they can continue to track their progress seamlessly.

Fitness Boxing 2 looks like it will let players get a moderate-to-high intensity workout in the comfort of their home without the need for extra peripherals (and thus a higher cost) like Ring Fit Adventure. While Ring Fit Adventure continues to dominate the sales charts, there’s definitely room for another fitness game to help keep players engaged and committed to their fitness goals.

Fitness Boxing 2: Rhythm and Exercise is set to release on December 4 exclusively for the Switch.
