Sega, Atlus Reveal TGS 2020 Game Lineup | Game Rant

With the online edition of the Tokyo Game Show just days away, publishers showcasing at the event are revealing the lineups for what to expect like Square Enix did earlier this month. With Sega being one of the biggest Japanese publishers within the entire industry, the now 60-year-old company revealed a long list of games it will be showing at Tokyo Game Show 2020 Online, alongside its subsidiary Atlus.

It’s a big line up of games between Sega, Atlus, and its partnered titles. The list was also released with a schedule for the event and what the publisher plans to show via its steams starting on September 25. While Sega’s lineup only features confirmed titles, there are some games that may just catch the eyes of players.

One of the biggest projects on the list between Sega and Atlus is definitely Shin Megami Tensei 3: Nocturne HD Remaster which was revealed during the Nintendo Direct Mini in July. Looking through the schedule on September 26, Nocturne HD Remaster will have a live gameplay demonstration with director Kazuyuki Yamai and other panelists.

From Sega’s side, likely the biggest new title on the list is Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 which is set to release this December. Beyond that, most of the showing is mobile games and upcoming Phantasy Star Online 2 content. Strangely included in the lineup is the Bayonetta & Vanquish 10th Anniversary Bundle which is part of the first day stream’s “Information Live” section. This segment will focus on already released titles including Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers.

Of the list of games, there is only one Yakuza title with Yakuza Online, a mobile and PC collectible card game. Sega was quick to announce that Yakuza Kiwami 3 would not be at this year’s Tokyo Game Show while confirming that the next remake for the franchise is in the works. However, Sega producer Masayoshi Yokoyama did tease fans to check out the the stream. On September 27, the penultimate segment of Sega’s showcase will be the “Sega Nama TGS Special” which will include the “latest information” on the future of the Yakuza franchise.

While Sega’s confirmed lineup may not be as exciting as fans were hoping, that doesn’t mean the publisher won’t be revealing new titles. Throughout Tokyo Game Show most publishers will have a one-hour presentation with Sega and Atlus’ taking place on opening day, following the keynote address. There might even be more news of upcoming PC ports from Sega.

The Tokyo Game Show 2020 Online will start on Thursday, September 24 and end on Sunday, September 27.
