The end of September means that the spooky season of Pokemon GO is right around the corner. That said, before the mobile AR game moves on to introduce its annual Halloween festivities in mid October, there are still some other events to get through first. Now that Porygon Community Day is in the rear view mirror, it’s time to look forward to early October’s Longchamp (Fashion Week) event and its special spawns.
This event is a partnership event between Pokemon and Longchamp and coincides with the Paris Fashion Week real world events. During this timeframe there will be some very special fashionable outfits coming to Pokemon GO both in the form of Pokemon wearing special outfits (or at least hats) and special items being available for trainer avatars.
This event may not be quite as exciting as the usual Pokemon GO event in terms of rewards, but there are some interesting special spawns and the chance for a new shiny, which is always enough to get the collectors out and playing. This time around players have a chance to encounter shiny Kricketot, which can evolve into shiny Kricketune. These shiny variants have a pretty nice orange/yellow hue to them and are likely going to be the primary motivation to participate in the event for many players who are trying to complete their coveted shiny dex.
Friday, October 2, 2020, at 8:00 a.m. to Thursday, October 8, 2020, at 10:00 p.m. PDT (GMT −7)
The following Pokémon will be appearing in the wild: Mareep, Skitty, Roselia, Kricketot, Croagunk wearing a backward cap, Blitzle, Cottonee, Minccino, Gothita, and more!
Special Pokémon wearing costumes will be appearing during the event!
Smoochum that hatch from 7 km Eggs during this time will appear wearing a bow!
Kirlia wearing a top hat will be appearing in raids! They’ll also know the move Draining Kiss.
Shinx wearing a top hat will be appearing in raids!
Croagunk wearing a backwards cap will appear in GO Snapshot as a surprise encounter! They may also rarely appear in the wild.
Enjoy exclusive Field Research for the duration of the event.
Dress up for fashion week—in person and in-game! Be sure to head to the shop for a free Longchamp avatar item in Pokémon GO. Then, you can match with your Trainer avatar by picking up the same Longchamp item in stores. For more information on availability, please visit the official Longchamp website.
If you’re lucky, you might encounter a Shiny Kricketot!
That’s everything that is known about the Longchamp event so far, but as Fashion Week draws closer the exclusive Field Research details will likely arrive through a datamine. Be sure to check back for those details to find out if there are any extra special rewards up for grabs by completing tasks throughout the event’s time frame. It doesn’t sound like Mega Raids will be a focal point for this particular event, so some players may enjoy that break before the Halloween event arrives and Mega Gengar takes over.
For now, Pokemon GO trainers should be able to head out into the world (or play from home) and continue catching the best Unova Pokemon in the game and getting closer to that complete Pokedex. Check back for more Pokemon GO updates closer to the event. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!
Pokemon GO is available now in select regions on Android and iOS devices.
