WWE 2K Battlegrounds features a massive roster of wrestlers, which includes Superstars like John Cena, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and The Rock. That said, players will quickly discover that many of the wrestlers on WWE 2K Battlegrounds‘ roster are not available upon starting the game, and the intention of this guide to provide details on how fans can go about unlocking their favorite characters.
The first avenue that players that want to unlock wrestlers in WWE 2K Battlegrounds should pursue is the game’s Campaign, which is found within the Play section. Notably, the amount of Battle Bucks that is awarded for matches is contingent upon a player’s performance, and thus fans that want to maximize their rewards will need to win consistently.
The second Battlegrounds‘ currency is called Golden Bucks, and it is purchased with real world money through the in-game Store. While many players will certainly prefer to avoid engaging with these microtransactions, Golden Bucks provide an opportunity for fans to completely bypass the grind and unlock their desired characters almost instantaneously.
After acquiring Battle Bucks or Golden Bucks in some quantity, players are ready to exchange their currency for wrestlers, and that is done from within the Superstars section. Here wrestling fans will find visual representations of all of the characters in the game, and the wrestlers that appear to be packed in plastic are the ones that have not yet been obtained. Selecting these wrapped wrestlers will provide players with information on how much they cost, in both of the available currencies, and start the purchasing process.
To note, developer Saber Interactive has confirmed numerous post-launch characters for WWE 2K Battlegrounds, which means that players have plenty to look forward to after they unlock all of the wrestlers that are currently available. It is expected that these additional Superstars will also be unlocked with the aforementioned currencies, and players can thus prepare for their release by starting to stockpile their Battle Bucks.
