House House’s indie darling Untitled Goose Game garnered plenty of attention upon release on September 20, 2019 because of its promise to let players act like a pest and terrorize a small English town. Tomorrow, Untitled Goose Game will release its free co-op update, and the developer let fans know they can expect a cacophony of honking chaos when playing with friends.
In a reminder about the update posted to Twitter on September 17, House House revealed that the goose controlled by a second player has a lower-pitched honk than the original. This adds to other differences noted when the update was introduced during a Nintendo Indie World Showcase this August, such as its beak and feet being a darker red when compared to the first goose’s orange.
Untitled Goose Game was incredibly popular when it came out, becoming a top-selling game on platforms like the Switch and eventually receiving physical releases for Nintendo’s console and Sony’s PS4. It was also nominated for a number of awards at events like the 2020 Game Developers Conference and British Academy of Film and Television Awards (BAFTA).
While it’s likely that House House’s title will see a resurgence thanks to the release of a co-op mode, the ongoing coronavirus pandemic which is still largely affecting parts of the world like the United States may put a damper on the possibility of horrible geese teaming up. Luckily, the Untitled Goose Game update being free means double trouble will still be available for a long time to come.
Untitled Goose Game is available now for the Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
