Marvel’s Avengers: The 10 Best Hulk Outfits In The Game, Ranked

When Bruce Banner transforms into the powerful jade giant known as the Hulk, he usually tears through his clothing and eradicates any form of costume the character might have adopted, though there have been a few occasions where the Hulk has successfully worn a costume that worked for him.

Marvel’s Avengers includes the powerhouse on the team’s roster and includes a variety of outfits for the Hulk that touch on his comic transformations and costumes while also introducing new outfits and takes on the character that looks great and gives fans the opportunity to play as their favorite Avenger with a variety of different styles.

10 Breakthrough

The Breakthrough outfit features a costume that the comic version of the Hulk would frequently sport, as it features the busted out clothing that occurs when Banner’s puny frame is transformed into the massively muscled Hulk.

This costume was made available to players who pre-ordered Marvel’s Avengers as part of the Legacy pack of outfits, which reflects the character’s origins and earliest designs from the comics, with his patented torn purple trunks that would become a fixture of his outfit for years.

9 Monster Inside

When Hulk first debuted in the comics in 1962’s The Incredible Hulk#1, he wasn’t the green monster that fans know and love today, but he was instead a dim shade of grey that initially featured a powerful but dim-witted persona.

The Monster Inside outfit is a great callback to the early appearances of the Grey Hulk, which features the muted trunks and darkened tone while removing the other costume embellishments to give fans of the classic character an option to play in Marvel’s Avengers.

8 Joe Fixit/Pin Stripe

The Gray Hulk would eventually evolve into a new persona of Bruce Banner’s known as Joe Fixit, who retained more intelligence than his green counterpart while also following some of his darker urges and impulses, which inspired the character to become a Las Vegas enforcer.

Joe began to dress the part and moved away from the ripped remains of clothing to the finest suits, as showcased by a few of the outfits available in Marvel’s Avengers, including the regular Joe Fixit as well as variations like the fancy Pin Stripe outfit.

7 Turbulent

Marvel’s Avengers didn’t stick with just adapting classic looks from the comics or films, and instead created a number of different original looks for the character, including the Turbulent outfit that almost presents a negatively reversed version of the character.

The darker skin tone and lighter trunks introduce a completely different version of the character’s transformative phases that will definitely appeal to players looking to play as a new unique version of the Hulk.

6 Primal

The Primal outfit is one of a few that add tribal paint marking to the Hulk’s body along with variations of his costume, which not only looks great but also calls back to an alternate version of the character that was seen during the House of M event.

That version of Bruce Banner relocated to Australia where he befriended an Aboriginal tribe that honored him with similar painted markings. The House of M Hulk fought back against the mutant rulers of that reality and ended up taking over Australia alongside A.I.M. (Marvel’s Avengers villains) to protect it as his new home.

5 Obsidian

When Marvel’s Avengers was first released, players had the option of purchasing the Deluxe Edition, which included extra features like the Obsidian line of outfits, which gave the entire team of Avengers new matching uniforms, including their most powerful weapon.

While the other characters’ Obsidian costumes modified their already existing costumes, Hulk gained a new pair of unripped pants (likely made from the Marvel Universe’s trusty Unstable Molecules) that followed the silver and gold color scheme of the rest of the Avengers, making this one of the few untattered costumes available for the Hulk.

4 Possessed

There are a few other painted versions of the Hulk that are similar to the previously mentioned Primal outfit that includes claw marks and other designs, though the Possessed version is easily one of the most intimidating.

Using a darkened version of the Broken outfit, Possessed covers the Hulk in chalky white bone-like paintings that make him look like an undead zombie. The paint extends down his arms and fingers to complete the skeleton-like look, while his face is similarly painted to bring a whole new dynamic to the character.

3 Palm Springs/Cabana

The Joe Fixit version of the character was further evolved in Marvel’s Avengers as the Hulk seemingly went on vacation to the Everglades with a fitting wardrobe that includes a fedora and knuckle rings for increased bling and damage.

The Palm Springs version of this outfit keeps the trademarked purple trunks and pairs them with designer shoes and a fancy undershirt, while the Cabana outfit changes up the colors and patterns for a more relaxed, yet equally menacing look at “retired” Hulk.

2 Stark Tech

As Hulk isn’t known for his long-lasting costumes in the comics or films, Marvel’s Avengers solved that problem by upgrading the character’s costume alongside the rest of the Avengers thanks to Iron Man‘s advanced Stark Tech.

Hulk’s Stark Tech costume features high-tech trunks and gauntlets that both enhance the character’s abilities and call back to the high-tech armor worn by the Indestructible Hulk during the Marvel NOW era, though the Stark Tech armor manages to remain true to the character without seeming like an unnecessary armor upgrade.

1 Champion

One of the best outfits ever worn by the Hulk in Marvel’s Avengers, and the comics and big screen adaptations for that matter, is the Legendary Champion outfit that is available for players to purchase from the game’s marketplace.

The armored gladiator attire first appeared during the fan-favorite Planet Hulk storyline that saw the character forced to compete in arena battle games before eventually taking over his own ill-fated planet, a story that inspired the events of the MCU‘s Thor: Ragnarok.
