Pokemon fans are arguably some of the most loyal and passionate in gaming. The audience of the franchise is also very wide, as players and card collectors and enthusiasts young and old come together. One Pokemon fan is working on an incredible set of art, and the most recent update is a reminder of just how impressive it is.
Reddit user u/noduckshere94 recently posted an update on a massive Pokemon project they are working on. The artist is crocheting every single Pokemon, with the most recent example being an adorable Jigglypuff. There are over 800 Pokemon in total from 8 generations, so the creator has a lot of work to do.
Thus far u/noduckshere94 has crocheted 7 Pokemon, which means they are 0.7 percent of the way to completion. To put that into a bit of perspective, players have a 0.2 percent chance of finding a shiny in Pokemon GO. So far, the artist has created Pikachu, Squirtle, Mew, Oddish, Seedot, Scorbunny, and the aforementioned Jigglypuff. The detail is remarkable, with Oddish and Scorbunny looking exactly like their video game counterparts. The art also has a distinctive look to it that belongs to the artist.
In the Reddit post, the artists asked fans what the next Pokemon should be that they crochet, and one of the biggest requests is Gengar, who is seeing a Halloween event in Pokemon GO and has always been a favorite among fans. Of course, there are literally over 850 more options for the artist to choose from. It will be remarkably impressive if they end up creating crochets of all Pokemon.
By the time all Pokemon crochets have been completed, perhaps the rumored Pokemon Diamond and Pearl remakes will have been released. According to some rumors, it is currently believed that the games that originally launched on the Nintendo DS could make their way to the Nintendo Switch in November of 2021. The remake allegedly would also include the new Gigantamaxing feature, which was introduced in Pokemon Sword and Shield. Nintendo and Game Freak have already remade multiple generations of Pokemon, so it seems like an inevitability that Diamond and Pearl will eventually rerelease.
Pokemon fans can be both zealous and artistic, so creating all of these crochets will be spectacular but in line with the passionate nature of the fans. There are even some pretty unique Pokemon tattoos out there, for example, as the forever nature of a tattoo proves the love of an entertainment entity more than almost anything can.
