A new update has just been released for Red Dead Redemption 2 on the PC. The update is live everywhere, including Steam and Epic Games Store, and focuses on fixing multiple known crashing issues on the PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2.
The cowboy-themed game saw remarkable critical success when it launched, but no game is technically perfect. Rockstar Games has been focusing on addressing bugs in both Red Dead Online and Red Dead Redemption 2. There have been some game-breaking glitches to the game, and this new patch hopes to tackle some of them.
The PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2 has had issues in the past, as this is not the first time Rockstar has released an update to fix concerns with stability and crashing. Hopefully, this most recent update will allow for a smoother and more enjoyable experience, as there isn’t much worse than a game shutting down mid-session and losing progress. The patch notes are not lengthy by any means, but the hope is that the updates are efficient.

- Fixed an issue that prevented some players from entering Red Dead Online resulting in the error 0x99220000

- Fixed an issue that resulted in a crash when launching the game due to a corrupted key bind mapping file
- Fixed an issue that resulted in a crash when launching the game using DirectX 12 on some versions of Windows 7/8
Red Dead Redemption 2 has seen solid sales and concurrent player success. The game is still going strong after it launched nearly two years ago, with the online presence helping to give the game legs. As long as this recent patch truly addresses the crashes, players can go back to making money in Red Dead Redemption 2, making a name for themselves, and exploring the wild wild west.
