Fate/Grand Order players may be wrapping up intense farming during the last few hours of Battle in New York 2020, but the next event is coming right afterwards. Starting after maintenance, the Halloween Strike! Demonic Climb – Himeji Castle War Revival will go from September 30th to October 13th.
Halloween 2019 originally starred Elizabeth Bathory, her other versions, and a host of returning FGO servants. Now the third Halloween story is back for one more rerun ahead of other new events in Fall. Veteran players should be familiar with the mission system and other mechanics, but newcomers can easily understand how to proceed through and earn a free welfare servant.
Just like the Garden of Sinners event, players will need to complete 100 missions over the next 2 weeks. These missions have different requirements like defeating enough of a specific enemy and give event items, unlock new quest nodes, and even move the story forward upon completion. Note that the second half of the main story is timelocked until October 2nd so there’s no need to rush through initially.
During the climb up Himeji Castle, players will obtain 3 types of event currency that drop from quests. 8500 Beam Cookies, 7000 Missile Ramune, and 6600 Drill Gummy drops are needed to fully clear the shop of Craft Essences and ascension materials. The top priority should be purchasing the 2 copies of each shop CE, but the rest can wait until the best nodes unlock after the main story to maximize farming.
To help with the grind, servants related to Halloween 3’s story will get a damage bonus when used during quests.
100-Percent Damage Increase: Mecha Eli-chan, Mecha Eli-chan Mk. 2, Osakabehime
50-Percent Damage Increase: Elizabeth Bathory, Elizabeth Bathory (Brave), Elizabeth Bathory (Halloween), Tamamo-no-Mae, Tamamo-no-Mae (Lancer), Tamamo Cat, Kiyohime, Kiyohime (Lancer), Cleopatra, Carmilla, Yan Qing (Assassin of Shinjuku), Wu Zetian (Assassin of the Nightless City), Penthesilea (Berserker of El Dorado)
There are 3 CEs that can be acquired which increase the chance that certain additional enemies will spawn. Note that players will get 5 guaranteed copies through the shop and missions, so they can MLB each CE without having to farm an additional drop.
- Aerial Drive, +20% (100% if MLB) appearance rate for Pumpkin Knights, Pumpkin Gazers, and Mass Produced Units
- Golden Wings, +20% (100% if MLB) appearance rate for Homunculus, Automata, and Drones
- Nostalgic Form, +20% (100% if MLB) appearance rate for Skeletons and Scarecrows
3 more CEs can be summoned from the Halloween gacha that boost event currency drops.
- Trick or Treatment, +1 (+2 if MLB) to Beam Cookie drops
- Phantom Night, +1 (+2 if MLB) to Missile Ramune drops
- From Wonderland, +1 (+2 if MLB) to Drill Gummy drops
Much like FGO’s GudaGuda 3 and previous events, the best farming nodes will unlock after completing enough missions and the main story.
- Gummy Drill: Castle Gate, Burial Chamber, or Stone Drop Window
- Missile Ramune: Hidden Corridor, High Windows, or Right Shachi
- Beam Cookie: Underground Factory or Old Well
After completing the main story, players receive an item they can redeem for either Mecha Eli-chan or Mecha Eli-chan Mk. 2. While differing in appearance, both are 4-star Alter Ego servants with the same offensive skills and single-target Buster NP. New players will definitely benefit from either Eli-chan’s class advantage against the 4 Cavalry classes and Foreigners. After making a choice, players can raise their Eli-chan to Level 80 and NP5 by completing missions that award the ‘B-Pellet’ ascension item and ‘Spare Reactor’ for purchasing additional copies from the shop. Note that Fate/Grand Order players who finished the original event last year can now get the Eli-chan they didn’t pick before.
