Hades Patch Fixes Game-Breaking Bug on Switch | Game Rant

Even though it exited early access only two weeks ago, players around the world seem quite taken with Supergiant Games’ new roguelite: Hades. With over 1 million copies sold, it seems natural that players are going to find bugs within the game, especially in the Nintendo Switch version which didn’t receive an early access version like on the PC. Unfortunately, one of the bugs discovered in the Switch version of Hades was game-breaking but Supergiant has quickly moved to patch it out of the game.

The game-breaking bug found in the Switch version of Hades had to do with loading save data. Players had found that in rare instances, the game wouldn’t let Switch players load their save data, forcing them to begin a brand new game. However, these fans no longer need fear for their data’s safety now that the latest patch has been pushed out.

While many fans of the game have responded to Supergiant’s tweet about the Switch patch expressing their thanks, others seemed more curious as to when they can expect the Hades cross-save update. Supergiant had previously announced that Hades would feature cross-save support between the PC and Nintendo Switch versions, however it delayed this feature following setbacks within development leading to its 1.0 launch.

Despite these bugs and setbacks within the game’s development, critics and players alike continue to praise Hades for not only its addicting gameplay, but its interesting narrative as well. This is likely due to interesting character interactions that players experience that are directly based on actions player makes, including how far they make it in their attempt to escape the Underworld and what upgrades they have chosen between runs.

Players also seem to be enamored with the many characters the protagonist Zagreus meets throughout his escape attempt and back at the House of Hades in between runs. While some obsess over the attractiveness of all of the gods and goddesses that offer their service to Prince Zagreus in his escape, others have simply enjoyed their time back at home wanting to pet their three-headed best friend, Cerberus.

Hades seems to be one of 2020’s biggest games that players will want to try out if they’re wanting to fill out their personal Game of the Year list. Even players who are apprehensive of the game’s combat have tools at their disposal to make the game more beginner friendly, such as the game’s God Mode. All in all, it seems that players’ main takeaway is that Hades is an experience that all players should enjoy.

Hades is available now on PC and Switch.
