The Mandalorian’s Razor Crest is the Latest Hasbro Fan-Funded Project

Hasbro’s HasLab platform has allowed fans to crowdfund multiple large-scale products since it was reestablished in 2018, including a 26-inch tall figure of a sentinel from X-Men comics lore. Now, HasLab’s latest crowdfunding project adds the Razor Crest spacecraft from Disney+ and Lucasfilm’s The Mandalorian to its Star Wars: The Vintage Collection.

The first season of The Mandalorian introduced Star Wars fans to a brand new spacecraft dubbed the Razor Crest, the primary means of transportation for the titular bounty hunter and his accidental companion, Baby Yoda. With only the Millennium Falcon having more screen time in the entire Star Wars franchisethe Razor Crest became a fan-favorite vessel and the subject of HasLab’s latest crowdfunding campaign. Hasbro announced it would need 6,000 fans to back the project by November 9th, 2020, and the campaign was successfully funded by 7,529 backers as of the end of September.

The Razor Crest model was designed to be compatible with all Vintage scale figures and includes a 3.75-inch figure of Din Djarin, a.k.a Mando, complete with his Beskar armor and cape. The model of the spacecraft itself stands at 30-inches long, 20-inches wide, and 10-inches tall on its landing gear, making it one of the largest vehicles in Hasbro’s Vintage Collection. Additional features on the model spacecraft include a detailed interior with three seats for Vintage figures, detachable engines and removable hulls, a locker with removable weapons inspired by the series, opening rear and side doors, removable landing gear, and a bunk area with enough space for a figure to hide.

Hasbro has announced that a bonus Escape Pod add-on accessory to the Razor Crest model was added once the campaign hit 8,000 backers. Fans can pre-order the Razor Crest model for a cost of $349.99. The product is expected to begin shipping in Fall 2021.

Hasbro also stated a second unlock will be available after the initial backer goal is reached, though details were not provided. Of course, fans will likely be hoping a Baby Yoda figure will be added to the Razor Crest model.

With the second season of The Mandalorian debuting at the end of next month, fans won’t have to wait nearly as long to see the Razor Crest back in action on their television screens. In fact, the Razor Crest may have many adventures ahead of it if series star Giancarlo Esposito’s comments on a multi-season story arc are true.

The Mandalorian season two premieres exclusively on Disney+ on October 30, 2020.
