Rogue Company is a team-oriented third-person shooter developed by First Watch Games and published by Hi-Rez Studios. Earlier this summer, Rogue Company launched in an early access beta form for $30, but now the game is free.
Rogue Company helps fill the gap for Counter-Strike: GO/Valorant-style games on consoles, as those games are currently exclusive to PC. Rogue Company has multiple modes, and the 4×4 Extraction mode should seem familiar to fans of CS:GO, or even players of Search and Destroy in Call of Duty, as it has one team attempting to hack an objective, and the other attempting to defend. Players also have one single life per each round in this mode.
Hi-Rez now has quite a few high-profile entries in various multiplayer genres. The team often takes ideas and gives its own spin on it, like Smite being akin to League of Legends, 0r Paladins, which recently saw an announcement for a new character, being Hi-Rez’s take on the Overwatch formula.
Rogue Company also features cross-play, allowing Xbox, PS4, Switch, and PC players to frag it out together. Hi-Rez has supported cross-play in its games before. With the game officially being launched today, as a free title no less, there is the opportunity for the game to see a boom in its player base. Hi-Rez has also detailed a roadmap for what players can expect moving forward, so fans who are interested in jumping in now have some interesting things to look forward to.
Rogue Company is available for free on PC, Xbox, Switch, and PS4.
