PGA Tour 2K21 released in August and already has a new update that adds new game modes and exclusive clothing items. The previous update addressed bug fixes and gameplay optimization, while the current update contains no tweaks to gameplay, but adds two new multiplayer game modes to PGA Tour 2K21.
The High Rollers online playlist allows players to bet virtual currency in a skins-like format. It’s a 1 vs. 1 playlist that requires a 1,500 VC buy-in for the match, in which three holes from PGA Tour 2K21 maps are chosen at random, with the winner taking all. Players can earn VC from gameplay across all modes, or VC can be purchased in the store. VC may be fairly easy to earn with gameplay, however with a 1,500 buy-in, the stakes are high with each hole.
The other new mode in PGA Tour 2K21 is the Quick Match playlist. The online game mode supports two to four players for a random three hole match. Previously, the shortest online match was nine holes, so the new mode is perfect for players who are short on time or want more course variety. With the new update adding game modes, it may be possible for the PGA Tour 2K21 Nintendo Switch version to receive an update to add the course creator, which was noticeably left out from only the Switch version.
The update also adds new Polo Ralph Lauren and Adidas clothing items for any created MyPlayer. A new polo and skorts by Ralph Lauren are available now in the shop. Adidas is also revealing a new golf line that is available first in PGA Tour 2K21. The new CODECHAOS shoes and polo can be purchased in the shop, with the polo designed for golf pros and boasting a unique logo for the new Adidas line. Players will be able to wear the polo in-game before it is released in real retail stores across the world.
PGA Tour 2K21 takes a big step with the addition of two online game modes. The previous updates did not add much to gameplay, but based on the newest update, gameplay may be expanded even further, with more new game modes in the future. PGA Tour 2K21 may even replicate other 2K game features with in-game events and more themed items.
Players can rack up VC with the Quick Match playlist, and either lose or win even more currency in the High Rollers playlist. With so much money on the line in three holes, players may want to take a look at some tips to cut down on score. With a couple of wins in the High Rollers mode, players can purchase the new clothing to make their MyPlayer stand out.
PGA Tour 2K21 is out now on PC, PS4, Stadia, Switch, Xbox One.
