The NFL is in full swing and alongside it Madden NFL 21 is working to improve its experience post-launch. This week, EA Sports released a new update that is focused on improving small details about each game’s modes and AI player behaviors, as well as some tweaks to the game’s presentation.
EA Sports’ patch notes for the Madden NFL 21 update highlight that it is targeting bug fixes for Madden Ultimate Team, Franchise, and overall gameplay. As well, the update includes general gameplay and presentation improvements.
A lot of these changes and improvements will be subtle to the average player but will go a long way towards making the experience better for the hardcore Madden fan. There is a lot of football lingo on display in the patch notes, and some of these bugs likely went right over players’ heads. Most of the bug fixes, though, seem to address situations where defenders were doing things that either shouldn’t be able to do or that are illogical for a stout defense.
The update also includes some fixes for the new The Yard mode, which is like Madden’s version of arcade-style football. There are different rule sets based on the field players are on and the pace of the game is much faster. Apparently there were some issues with player’s Avatars in The Yard and those should be fixed now.
Arguably the most interesting bug fix in the Madden NFL 21 update is the audio tuning changes for the San Francisco 49ers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ stadiums. Having not really noticed any audio differences during Game Rant’s Madden review it’s hard to know what was wrong with the audio, but whatever the bug was is now fixed.
