The content-filled Season 6 update for Call of Duty: Warzone has had its issues, with many bugs reported since release. One grim occurrence within Warzone seemed to be another glitch, yet it appears that players themselves are making it happen.
Players may see something odd falling from the sky as they take advantage of Warzone’s double XP event this weekend, as one player named Norbs1988 posted a clip within the CODWarzone subreddit showing off the weird moment. As a Plunder match approaches its conclusion, a body suddenly hits the ground and dies instantly. Another immediately follows as Norbs1988 approaches the point of impact.
Both players appear to be wearing the same outfit and using the same weapons, making Norbs1988 believe their death is a bug along the lines of Warzone‘s Demon Texture glitch rather than a natural occurrence. As Norbs loots the items off the ground, another body smashes into the surface next to him. Another body quickly joins and another after that, and before long the ground is littered with weapons and players in construction uniforms stacked on top of one another.
While the outfits can be explained as just being popular due to Warzone’s free PS Plus pack from Season 5, the quickness with which the bodies pile up is more mysterious. The top comment of the post has the answer for the raining bodies within Warzone, however, and it is far simpler than one might initially think. Reddit user Ultrastxrr replies that the supposed bug is “simply the afk folks respawning in the same spot in plunder” with the auto-chute settings turned off. With the players not being forced to pull their parachute, they will continuously die in the same spot just like they do in the darkly funny clip.
Given Call of Duty: Warzone‘s reputation for glitches, it is hard to blame Norbs1988 for assuming that the raining bodies were just another bug. Both of Warzone’s season 6 weapons are broken, with the SP-R208 having no bullet drop and a certain magazine on the AS Val allowing it to shoot through walls and crates with no damage fall-off.
For players that are fine with using glitches to their advantage, though, they may want to make use of an SP-R208 loadout from a pro CoD player that enhances the no bullet drop effect of the weapon. With such a powerful, broken sniper in Warzone, Plunder players will likely be seeing similar weapons drop from raining bodies going forward.
Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
