Animal Crossing: New Horizons – How to Get More Candy | Game Rant

Though there have been those players who dropped Animal Crossing: New Horizons after feeling burnt out on the game, there are plenty of reasons to hop back in this fall. The recent Animal Crossing: New Horizons fall update added some major new content to give players much more to do.

Obviously, the biggest inclusion in the fall update is the Halloween event on October 31. New Horizons players have all month to prepare for the spooky festivities, which involves growing pumpkins and collecting tons of candy to hand out to villagers and Jack on Halloween night.

Along with the standard fish and bug changes in October, tons of new content has been added to New Horizons this fall. One bit of new content that is integral to getting the most out of New Horizon’s Halloween event is candy. Players who have already spent some time playing New Horizons in October have likely seen that candy was added to the Nookling shop. However, Timmy and Tommy make a point of telling players that candy can only be purchased once per day.

While this seems fairly limiting, there are a handful of ways for players to get more candy for the New Horizons Halloween update. The first and most reliable way to get candy before Halloween night is by visiting friends islands each day. Players can buy additional candy at friends islands, but again are limited to one candy per island. Thankfully, buying candy at a friends island does not steal the opportunity from the island’s owner.

The other methods to get more candy involve playing during the Halloween event. If players failed to collect enough candy for the event, dressing in costume and speaking to villagers inside their homes will prompt them to give you candy for free. There are tons of Halloween costumes and Spooky Furniture available in New Horizons to craft or purchase throughout the month so players should set aside time to collect one costume for the event.

The final method for getting candy is through Jack, the Czar of Halloween. Jack is like the mascot for Halloween in Animal Crossing, and he only shows up on player’s islands during the event. On Halloween, Jack will ask for two pieces of candy and will give players Jack’s Face and Jack’s Robe after getting his candy. With these clothing items, players can dress up like Jack and scare villagers into giving you candy.

Those are the most reliable ways to get extra candy before New Horizon’s Halloween event on October 31. Still, playing the game a bit each day leading up to Halloween adds so much more to the event. Planting and growing pumpkins, crafting the spooky furniture series, and decorating the island for the holiday really makes the event much more fun. Hopefully with these tips, players can save up lots of candy for Jack and their villagers.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is out now, exclusively for Nintendo Switch.
