It’s not often that a community of players will commend a player for friendly fire, but it seems that Redditor tryunus87 has found an exception to that rule. In an Apex Legends video shared on the game’s subreddit, tryunus87 chronicles the tale of betrayal at the hands of a teammate and the sweet revenge that followed the traumatic event.
Typically, friendly fire is disabled in Apex Legends, so even if players aren’t getting along with their teammates, there’s no way for them to directly sabotage each other. This is probably for the best, as trolls would almost certainly abuse the system if friendly fire were a thing, but it can be frustrating when a teammate is breaking etiquette. In this case, the friendly Lifeline player stole some loot that tryunus87 purchased for themselves.
What follows is an amusing minute or two of both the OP and another friend punching and shooting at the Lifeline player to no avail. After realizing that this approach would bear no fruit, tryunus87 is forced to think outside the box in order to get their revenge. Using Wraith’s portal ability, they place one end of the portal near the Lifeline player and the other end overlooking a cliff.
As soon as the Lifeline player finishes up in the shop, tryunus87 punches her and launches her through the portal. The momentum carries through of course, sending her careening off the cliff. The whole situation is hilarious, and tryunus87 clarifies that he wasn’t mad because she stole it but rather because she didn’t seem sorry about it.
Apex Legends is available now on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
