Bandai Namco’s upcoming survival strategy RPG, Digimon Survive, may be set to suffer another delay.
Producer on the title, Kazumasa Habu, has tweeted out a suggestion that Bandai Namco may soon announce a delay for upcoming RPG, which was previously planned for release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC via Steam in 2020.
“I apologize for worrying you,” Habu replied to a fan on Twitter that wrote about the lack of news from the title this year (thanks, Gematsu).
“We’re currently reviewing the development team structure and refocusing the schedule for Digimon Survive. We’re coordinating with all parties concerned and plan to make an announcement on the situation in the near future. I apologize to everyone who has been looking forward to the game, but I ask that you please wait a while longer.”
Digimon Survive was confirmed for the Nintendo Switch back in July 2018, and was initially supposed to launch in 2019.
The game was delayed back in July 2019 to an undetermined date in 2020. It now looks as if the game is – once again – going to be pushed back.
Bandai Namco has yet to officially confirm a delay, though.
Here’s an overview of the game from Bandai Namco if you’re curious about the incoming title:
Digimon Survive sees a brand-new group of teenagers, led by Takuma Momozuka, get lost on a school camping trip, finding them transported to a strange new world of monsters and danger.
As they fight their way back home through an animated world of difficult decisions and deadly battles, players’ choices throughout the game will impact the evolution of their monster allies, and the final ending. Battles in the game are fought in 2D, in a more classic strategy RPG style.”
