Players that have completed previous Team GO Rocket special research in Pokemon GO will now be able to participate in new special research. This new set of special research tasks is named ‘An Inter-egg-sting Development’ and is focused on Team GO Rocket and Shadow Pokemon.
There are many different tasks involved with this special research with some possibly taking a long time to complete. This is due to these tasks in Pokemon GO being special research tasks and not timed research that only lasts one to two weeks.
Like many sets of special research tasks, the main focus is on a new mechanic added to Pokemon GO. The new mechanic this time is Strange Eggs, which are eggs that are obtained by defeating Team GO Rocket Admins. Outside of special events, these eggs take 12 kilometers of walking in order to hatch them.
There are six total stages in the new set of Team GO Rocket Special Research. Within them are very valuable rewards that range from items to Pokemon encounters. The first part of the special research tasks and their rewards are:
- Spin Five PokeStops – 500 Stardust
- Defeat Five Team GO Rocket Grunts – 500 Stardust
- Catch One Shadow Pokemon – Meowth Encounter
After completing the first part of the special research tasks players will be awarded with 500 more stardust, ten Pokeballs, and ten Razz Berries.
Part two of the special research tasks include:
- Catch Five Shadow Pokemon – 750 XP
- Make Three Nice Curveball Throws in a row – 750 XP
- Purify Five Shadow Pokemon – 750 XP
Once all of these tasks are complete players will get the additional rewards of 1,500 stardust, ten Great Balls, and an encounter with a Larvitar.
The third part of the special research tasks will likely take more time due to the increased difficulty and time needed to devote to the tasks. They are:
- Defeat a Team GO Rocket Leader three times – 1,000 XP
- Hatch three Eggs – 1,000 XP
- Earn five Candies walking with your buddy – 1,000 XP
After players devote the time to complete this stage of tasks players will be awarded with 1,500 stardust, three Golden Razz Berries, and an encounter with a Toxicroak.
Upping the challenge even more is the fourth stage of tasks. Players will definitely have to devote the time to complete this one with the tasks and rewards being:
- Defeat Team GO Rocket Leader Arlo – 1,250 XP
- Defeat Team GO Rocket Leader Cliff – 1,250 XP
- Defeat Team GO Rocket Leader Sierra – 1,250 XP
Once players defeat all of Team GO Rocket’s leaders, they will be awarded with five hyper potions, one Rocket Radar, and three revives.
The biggest task of this special research is all that’s left. This will include:
- Find the Team GO Rocket Boss – 2,500 Stardust
- Battle the Team GO Rocket Boss – 1,500 XP
- Defeat the Team GO Rocket Boss – Three Silver Pinap Berries
After Giovanni is defeated players will get 3,000 stardust, one fast TM, and one charged TM. There are additionally other rewards that automatically come with the final step. They all are:
- 6,000 XP
- Three Max Revives
- 20 Ultra Balls
- One Elite Charged TM
