As players explore Phasmophobia‘s haunted areas, they’ll be given several optional objectives. Some of these are rather simple and don’t require a lot of thought to complete, while others can be rather complex. The task requiring players to take a picture of dirty water is somewhere in the middle, as though it sounds easy it is actually a little involved.
With how decrepit the haunted house looks in Phasmophobia, one might think dirty water would simply refer to a toilet or sink with poor filtration, but as this game is about ghost hunting, there’s a supernatural element to it. Players will need to manipulate the ghost in the house to make the water dirty in order to complete this objective.
There’s a few different methods that players can use to accomplish this goal, but all of them involve making the ghost angry. This is a bit of a risky maneuver, but at the moment it’s the only known way to make the water dirty. These tips should help players get this optional objective completed.
In order to get a picture of dirty water, players need to make the ghost angry so that it turns on a sink nearby. If the player turns on a sink, the water will be clean, but when a ghost does it the water is dirty and corrupt. With that in mind, the first thing players should do is locate the sinks in the house. These can be found in the bathrooms or kitchen, and once found the player should clear out any smudge sticks or crucifixes in the area and make a mental note of their location.
Making the ghost angry can be accomplished in a number of ways. Players that stick together and make lots of noise are sure to anger any restless spirits in the area, and for some spirits asking certain questions can elicit a response as well. Turning on and off lights can also be effective, but the fastest way to anger a ghost is by saying it’s full name. Of course, players will have to figure out what the ghost’s name is first, so players should use a Ouija board to learn this.
Once the ghost turns on a faucet, players simply need to head into that area with the still cam and snap a picture. This part is easy, but getting the ghost to react in this way can be difficult as the spirits in Phasmophobia are unpredictable. In any case, these methods are players’ best shot at completing this optional objective.
