To say that Destiny 2 is a big game would be an understatement. At this point the game is absolutely swollen with content. It still has secrets too, with players trying to find out what the Ascendant Lens does and what story beats are around the corner.
A huge part of Destiny 2‘s success can be attributed to its very dedicated fanbase. Players are not content simply to take new updates at face value. Instead, they scour new content for every scrap of information, whether gameplay or plot related. Artwork, fan tributes, and community guides are often created to show appreciation for the game. On top of all of this, there are those who explore the limits of the game itself. This is more true than ever in the holiday area known as the Haunted Forest.
The Haunted Forest is a temporary, spooky incarnation of the Infinite Forest. Players initiate and play runs through the Forest in procedurally generated rooms. Each one contains enemies or a boss for players to fight, with rewards at the end based on success. It’s essentially a miniature Destiny 2 roguelite, but there seems to be more to it. Earlier, some Destiny 2 players discovered a hidden obstacle course in the Haunted Forest. Now it seems there’s even more there, as another player has discovered a mysterious platform.
Said player, who goes by Andybizzo on Reddit, discovered a diminutive platform while messing around with the orbs behind the Haunted Forest spawn. They discovered it was possible to land on a small platform that the orbs normally bounce off. From there, they saw the platform at the end of the Forest from a different angle. Recreating the trick proved difficult, but it is certainly an interesting perspective. Anyone in Destiny 2 who knows where the Haunted Forest is can easily try this themselves, as the area in question is right at the Forest’s spawn point.
Furthermore, Andybizzo could see a platform from the new vantage point that hovered somewhat above the spawn point. It seemed to be a puzzle platform suspended by rocket thrusters. Some speculate that Destiny 2‘s Traveler is in danger; maybe this has something to do with that.
On the other hand, it could just be a new activity for Festival of the Lost. There are presumably still things to be unveiled, and until the platforms are available for real, players can only speculate.
