Onrush Removed from Microsoft Store | Game Rant

Players looking to get the multiplayer racing title Onrush on the Microsoft Store may be disappointed to know that game has mysteriously vanished, being officially taken off of the store by the game’s developers, Codemasters.

In addition to the game being unavailable for new players, existing Xbox players for Onrush are also now unable to participate in the multiplayer modes of the game. While Onrush is said to come back in December, it isn’t often a game is taken down so suddenly like this.

Codemasters has put out a statement on its official Twitter about the situation. According to the tweet, this removal is due to the game needing a security server update. This will not be happening for versions of the game on other systems.

It is unknown what kind of security issue could’ve been exclusive to the Xbox One version of Onrush and why it will need to take over a month for the issue to resolve. Possibilities include hackers utilizing some kind of exploit that can only be found in the Xbox One port or a far deeper issue that Codemasters hasn’t gone public about.

Xbox One Onrush players will at least be compensated for this time away from multiplayer with the free in-game currency mentioned in Codemasters’ tweet. The exact issue will likely never come to light fully, but fans of the game can’t do much at this point except wait patiently. Players can also still have full access to the single-player game modes until the issue is solved.

Onrush is available now for the PlayStation 4 and will return for the Xbox One in December.
