Fan Makes Impressive Five Nights at Freddy’s Movie Teaser Trailer

Although a number of new video game movie adaptations have been announced over the last couple of years, very few can boast the same level of hype as Five Nights at Freddy’s. Although Scott Cawthon‘s long-stretching horror series may have just started as a small indie title, it quickly turned into something much more, with a rampant fanbase eager to get their hands on any new information about the franchise’s world.

However, the Five Nights at Freddy’s movie has been in production for a very long time, with the script undergoing several rewrites due to Cawthon himself not being happy with it. With fans waiting years for more information on the project, it seems a YouTuber by the name of Billy Crammer has taken matters into their own hands, creating a fan trailer for the upcoming movie.

The relatively brief footage makes for a chilling depiction of what a potential Five Nights at Freddy‘s movie could look like, featuring the eerie hallways, pizza restaurant setting, and surveillance footage perspective of the original game. The trailer begins with some slow panning shots of what is assumedly a version of Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria, cutting to an image of the notorious fictional kid’s restaurant during the day. Some ominous on-screen text signals that all is not right in the terrifying pizza parlor, as the imagery of dilapidated corridors gives way to a scene Five Nights fans are likely all too familiar with.

A lone security guard sits alone in an office monitoring some surveillance cameras, watching the corridors in case of activity. The trailer ends with a door opening and the iconic sound of Freddy Fazbear’s distinctive laugh echoing in the background. The fan trailer is a great slice of Five Nights At Freddy’s fun and a wonderful reminder of how exciting the prospect of a film adaptation is to the fans. Hopefully, the YouTuber’s ideas reflect what Blumhouse Productions is looking to integrate into its upcoming take on the franchise.

For those who aren’t acquainted with Scott Cawthon’s terrifying horror series, the games follow a series of haunted kids pizzerias, with the restaurants’ animatronic animal entertainers coming to life at night. Players often take on the role of a security guard on a night shift, forced to contend with the terrifying, hostile monsters as they wander the hallways. While its terrifying scares were a huge part of its rise to fame, Five Night’s at Freddy’s complex story (and the ensuing fan theories that followed it) became synonymous with the franchise, with each entry building on the overarching story’s eerie lore.

The Five Nights at Freddy’s movie is currently in production.
