PlayStation Video Portrays One Second From ‘Every Game That Defined PS4’

The PlayStation 4 is currently one of the top five best-selling video game consoles in the history of gaming, and while there are quite a few reasons for that, most would agree that the primary one has to do with the console’s games. From the beginning of its lifespan to the very end, the PlayStation 4 has delivered titles that have both entertained and inspired most individuals who’ve played them.

Now that the PlayStation 4’s time as a current-generation console is coming to an end, some PlayStation fans have gathered together to pay tribute to these experiences. These people are a group of gaming journalists that comprise the UK-based YouTube channel known as PlayStation Access, which covers all things Sony related. They’ve released a video depicting exactly one second from every game they believe defines the PlayStation 4’s popular generation of gaming.

The video spans over three full minutes and covers at least 304 games before coming to its conclusion. Such a number barely scratches the surface of the 4000+ PlayStation 4 games available, but that makes sense, considering the video is only focusing on the cream of the crop. With that in mind, there’s probably at least one game featured that PlayStation fans will recognize, such as God of War, Uncharted, and Final Fantasy 7 Remake. All in all, it features the majority of the games that ended up selling well for one reason or another.

In a way, the video acts as a tribute to the PlayStation 4 and as a celebration of the PlayStation 5’s release date, which happens in less than a month. Sony promises that the next-generation console will be even better than what players have right now, with features capable of taking players’ gaming experiences to whole new levels. With that comes the possibility of even more memorable games, especially considering many franchises that defined the PS4 will continue with the PS5.

As a bonus, nearly every game available on the PlayStation 4 will also be on the PlayStation 5. Some will even be able to take advantage of the PlayStation 5’s enhancements through a feature called “Game Boost,” which will allow them to run at 4K resolution, 60FPS, and more. With what it has going for it, the PlayStation 5 should turn out to be an even better generation of gaming than the PlayStation 4. Maybe it’ll even rival the PlayStation 2; here’s hoping. It’s always best to try and make the next generation better than the last.
