There was a time not that long ago that Doom was synonymous with those long-idle, but beloved, franchises that gamers were hoping against hope would return. For fans of id Software’s granddaddy of first-person shooters, that day came in 2016 when the developer finally released its newest entry in the incredibly important series. While not without flaws, fans were taken with how fresh, fast, and fun the game felt in an era overstuffed with military and sci-fi shooters.
Flash forward to 2020, and id is looking to build upon the strong foundation that Doom set four years ago. Join Ben Reeves, Brian Shea, and me as we descend into Doom Eternal’s newest hellscape and examine all the new features, areas, and upgrades we can get our demon-slaying hands on.
