The showrunner for The Witcher Netflix series is teasing new information about its upcoming season.
Showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich has confirmed that series villains Cahir and Fringilla will receive more backstory in Season 2, writing on Twitter:
“I can’t wait to dig deeper into Cahir and Fringilla in [The Witcher season 2], who they are, why Nilfgaard is important, and where they’ll go from here.” Hissrich said on Twitter. “It’s one of my favourite parts of the new season.”
I can’t wait to dig deeper into Cahir and Fringilla in S2… who they are, why Nilfgaard is important to them, and where they’ll go from here…. it’s one of my favorite parts of the new season. #QuarantineWatchParty #TheWitcher

A brief refresher: Cahir, if you don’t remember from your 2019 Netflix binge, is a knight of the Nilfgaardian Empire who attempts to track down Ciri before Yennefer sets the battlefield alight during the Battle of Sodden. Fringilla, on the other hand, is a sorceress at Cahir’s ear.
The Witcher season 2 is slated to arrive sometime in 2021; however, production has currently been shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Season 2’s eight episode arc was initially scheduled to begin production early next year.
