Screenshots of Final Fantasy 11’s mobile remake have appeared online

What appears to be screenshots and concept art for the Final Fantasy 11 mobile remake have surfaced.

The Final Fantasy 11 remake was announced for mobile years ago, and things have been very quiet since.

Today, screenshots of what could be the remake for mobile have appeared on Gamer Escape.

The screens were found by the site on a portfolio website, and the link is now dead. Luckily, the site grabbed the shots before they were pulled.

Five years ago, it was announced Square Enix had partnered with Nexon to develop a mobile edition of its popular MMORPG, and it was originally slated to launch in 2016.

After the initial announcement, nothing was heard on the game until two years ago when the first screenshots were released via a Nexon job posting for a character modeler.

And then, nothing.

Today’s screens and concept art could be old, or new. We’re not too sure since the link to the originals has been pulled offline.

Final Fantasy 11 first launched on the PlayStation 2 in 2002 and came out on Xbox 360 and PC afterwards. Servers for the console version were taken offline, but the PC version is still live.
