Another major patch for Call of Duty: Warzone, as well as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, has been delivered, making major fixes to some of the game’s most egregious bugs. According to the Warzone patch’s notes, the focus for the most recent patch is one specific reason. That being to correct a bug making weapon models corrupted on players screens, making Warzone difficult if not impossible to play. Of course, there are many more bug fixes beyond that for Warzone players to look forward to.
First, regarding the big fix at the center of the new Warzone patch, here’s what “corrupted” means. On some occasions, when players would pick up a weapon or a sight, the weapon model would get corrupted. Visually, this means that the weapon would display what can be described as spikes or extra malformed polygons. These shapes could be small are large, growing so big that they’d obfuscate the player’s vision or make it impossible to aim down the sights. This issue is apparently now fixed, so it shouldn’t be seen in-game anymore.
Another major fix in the new Warzone patch is to Warzone‘s “Play Again” button that appears after a match. It would be one thing if the Play Again button simply didn’t work, which it often didn’t. Sometimes, however, it was worse. For example, it’d launch the player that clicked it directly into a new match while leaving their entire party behind. The button will now work as intended, hopefully.
Two additional bug fixes are just hilarious to consider. Apparently, players were using the rope ascender to travel through a closed door. Perhaps the bug was allowing players to access an area unintended, which could lead to serious problems and exploits. Also, another bug was turning the “world model” of the Common AUG weapon invisible. In other words, this weapon could have been right at the player’s feed but they’d never know it. These bugs are said to now be fixed.
Ironically, there’s one final issue that needs to be addressed for Warzone. The patch size for this very small update on PS4 will be 1.2GB and either .88GB or 1.83GB on PC depending on whether the player is free-to-play or owns Modern Warfare. On Xbox One, however, the patch will be 66.3GB. The patch delivery process apparently has a bug of its own on Xbox One. This will hopefully be fixed in future updates, but Xbox One Warzone players will have to eat that huge download this time around.
While it’s only a handful of bug fixes, these changes will hopefully result in a better Warzone experience for all players. Odds are most players ran into these issues one time or another, but never again.
Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
