Many team members working on Destiny 2 right now have been working for Bungie for years, with a number of the developers, artists, and designers having worked at the company since Halo. For some of those developers who continue to work on the biggest changes in Destiny 2, the company has some fairly impressive gifts to reward years of dedicated work.
Game Director Christopher Barrett, a 20 year alumni at Bungie, shared a special Destiny 2 themed gift to celebrate his extended history at the company. Barrett shared pictures of the special gift on Twitter, showing off one of the developer’s favorite weapons from Destiny 2 brought fantastically into the real world.

The gift itself is a replica of the Lord of Wolves, an exotic shotgun from all the way back in the House of Wolves expansion for the original Destiny. In a related Tweet, Barrett claims that he chose this weapon because of the work he had done on the expansion it comes from, as well as how it is unique to Destiny, as opposed to the other projects he has been a part of at Bungie. From the pictures shown, it seems as though the weapon is a full sized model on par in quality with popular fan made replicas, like the Ruinous Effigy made with real wood.
Gifting high profile members of the team that has brought Destiny, among other games, to life, as replicas of iconic items and gear have been given away in thanks before. Famously, the voice actors for the Cayde-6, Zavala, Ikora, and the Speaker all received pieces of gear related to their characters when Destiny 2 first released. So it should come as no surprise that Bungie would reward Barrett for 20 years dedicated to the company, especially as Destiny 2 continues to grow through new expansions like the upcoming Beyond Light.
As viewers gather to check out the impressive sight of the Lord of Wolves replica, fans have begun to ask where they can get one of these props themselves, from collectors to Destiny cosplayers. However, it looks like this may be a unique item, made specifically for Barrett, so anyone looking to get their hands on a similar replica is going to have to either find a skilled artist or make one themselves. Regardless of whether or not the Lord of Wolves becomes a mass produced item in the future, the one Barrett received makes for a stellar reward for the developer’s 20 years dedicated to Bungie and fans of the games he has worked on.
Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
